What is the terahertz frequency?

The terahertz frequency (THz) is a unit of measurement for electromagnetic waves and is equal to one trillion hertz (1 THz = 10^12 Hz). This frequency range is located between microwaves and infrared radiation on the electromagnetic spectrum and has a wavelength range of approximately 100 micrometers to 1 millimeter. Terahertz radiation is used in various applications such as medical imaging, spectroscopy, and non-destructive testing.
